Dr. Radha Rama Devi, MD

Dr. Devi was instrumental in setting up the first Neonatal Screening program in India. She has published in National and International journals in the fields of Inbreeding, Neonatal Screening and Metabolic Disorders. Her special interests are in Inborn Errors of Metabolism. She is a recipient of numerous awards for academic and research excellence. She was awarded the National Women Bio-Scientist (Senior) award in the year 2005 by the Department of Biotechnology, government of India.
Radha Rama Devi is a post graduate in Pediatrics from Andhra Medical College, Vishakapatnam. She received a Certificate in Genetic Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

Dr. Parul Jayakar, MD, MS, FAAP, FACMG
Clinical Geneticist
Miami Children's Hospital
Dr. Parul Jayakar is board certified in clinical genetics, cytogenetics and pediatrics. She is the director of the hospital's state-of-the-art Cytogenetics Laboratory, and has extensive experience in evaluating children with suspected neurogenetic and metabolic disorders. She collaborates with experts around the world in the diagnosis and research of rare, complex, genetic disorders. Dr. Jayakar is also a consultant for the hospital's Craniofacial Center.
She earned her medical degree from the University of Delhi, India, and completed postgraduate training in pediatrics at the Royal College of Physicians. She also has a master's degree in Human Genetics from the University of Manitoba, Canada. She completed her pediatric residency at Miami Children's Hospital. Dr. Jayakar has published numerous professional papers, and is a member of several professional societies.

Dr. Ananth N Rao, Ph.D, FRS, FAMIC, MNAMS

Metabolic Diseases & Research
Dr. Rao focuses on the diagnosis and evaluation of Inborn Metabolic Disorders (IMDs) and has the experience of over 6000 referrals. He has been instrumental in establishing laboratories for study of metabolism & metabolic disorders and has established procedures for reviewing referred cases from all over India. Dr. Rao has about 40 national and international publications and has presented papers and invited lectures at numerous international conferences all over the world. Recent notable conferences he has presented at are the International Society of Newborn Screening, 3rd World Genetics Conference and Asia Pacific Clinical Biochemists Conference.
Dr. Rao has authored a book in Clinical Biochemistry and Biotechnology and has also contributed chapters in books in the field of metabolic disorders. He is a researcher and principal investigator of projects funded by the Indian central and state government agencies and is currently pursuing a NIH funded project in collaboration with University of Minnesota. Dr. Rao is a thesis supervisor for students pursuing graduate degrees in metabolism and related disorders in various universities in India.
Dr. Rao is the Founder & Editor-in-Chief, “Journal of Metabolism & Genetics”, first peer-reviewed journal in metabolism & genetics in India. The journal is the official voice of the Indian Association of Inborn Errors of Metabolism. He is also an Associate Editor of ‘Online Journal of Health & Allied Sciences’, India’s first peer reviewed Online Biomedical Journal.

Arvind Shenoi, MD

Dr. Shenoi heads the Department of Pediatrics at Manipal Hospital in Bangalore, Karnataka. He studied at the Government Medical College in Mysore, Karnataka and specialized in neonatology at PGIMER at Chandigarh, Punjab. He received a two year fellowship in neonatal intensive care at the Monash Medical Centre and Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Shenoi has been with the Manipal Hospital since 1993.
